About Us
We are a small private therapy practice providing therapeutic services to adults, youth, and couples in the Beaches area of Toronto as well as online to anyone living in Ontario.
Phil and Claire have been working together since 2011! We began our careers working in child welfare and quickly noticed our shared interests, sense of humour, and passion for supporting people in a meaningful way.
After thinking, talking, and learning different therapeutic models, we discovered that one of the strongest indicators of successful outcomes in therapy is the therapeutic relationship and rapport, or alliance, that forms between the person seeking therapy and the therapist. And thus, Therapy Alliance was formed! It is through this lens that we approach our work with you. We are happy you’ve found our website and hope to start working with you soon.
Claire Molloy, Individual and Couples Therapist, MSW, RSW
From time to time we can all feel stuck or lost, or even find ourselves in moments of crisis. We all have histories and life stories that have shaped the way we think, feel, and act. Therapy can help uncover the reasons why we think, feel, and do the things we do and this uncovering can lead to change.
Engaging in therapy takes courage and vulnerability. With 20 years experience of supporting adults, youth, couples, and families, my focus is always on building trust and creating a safe space for us to delve into the challenges you face. Together we will work on providing you with insight into your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, develop new ways of seeing and understanding yourself and others, make meaningful and lasting change in behaviour patterns, and develop strong and healthy coping strategies so that you can face any challenge in the future with courage and confidence in yourself.
I am trained and informed by different models of therapy such as Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solutions Focussed Brief Therapy, and Narrative Therapy with specialized training in trauma. I have extensive experience in working with children and families who are survivors of abuse, trauma, and domestic violence. I am a Registered Social Worker and have a Master’s Degree in Social work and I practice from an anti-oppressive framework.
Phil Robbins, Individual and Couples Therapist, MSW, RSW
I provide individual therapy to adults experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, and parenting issues. I have a special focus on men who have challenges with anger and interpersonal difficulties. I also provide couples therapy using the approach of relational empowerment to help couples with goals such as increasing closeness, navigating conflict, and coping with infidelity.
My philosophy is that EVERYONE is capable of making meaningful changes no matter what your experience has been, and I will listen and respond with care and respect, and support people to uncover what they do best and use that to make helpful changes, and to feel better!
I am a Registered Social Worker and have a Master’s Degree in Social Work. I use an anti-oppression framework, and my therapeutic approaches include Relational Life Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Solution Focused practice. I am also a Certified Trainer and Facilitator of a treatment program for fathers called Caring Dads.
